I has the wonderful pleasure of photographing 4 different sessions this past weekend... and WOW was it fun!! We shot a high school senior, a new baby boy on the way, and two beautiful families!! I am the LUCKIEST person in the world!! I want to say THANK YOU to all of our clients.... it is a joy to capture your lives!!!!

We have so many exciting things going on that we just had to share them with you!!!!!

• Sweet Pea Photography MD is SO excited to announce that we take ALL major credit cards!!!  Yay!!  You can now pay with your Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express for just an additional charge of $5!!

• We are scouting locations for our FALL MINI SESSIONS!!  Stay tuned for our dates, times and special pricing!!  We will provide the pumpkins, hay bales, and corn stalks!!  You provide the smiles!!

• Our website is almost done!!  Our clients will be able to view their photos, purchase prints, and share albums with family members!!  We will also have merchandise with your photographs available for purchase, such as mugs, mouse pads, T-Shirts, post cards, and magnets just to name a few!!  We will keep you posted when the web page is launched!!

• We are looking to partner with an individual or business to provide us with crocheted hats and headbands and in return we will advertise them on our Facebook page, our blog, and our website!!!  If you know anyone... send them our way!!!

Monday, Monday!!

Good Monday Morning Everyone!!


It is a BEAUTIFUL Monday morning on the Eastern Shore, and we could not be more excited for the arrival of fall temperatures!!  Fall is a GREAT time to have your family photographed outside!!  The colors are so lovely!!


Sweet Pea Photography MD had a wonderful weekend!!  We were invited to photograph a BEAUTIFUL surprise baby shower!!  There is a new daughter arriving in October, and this celebration was all about Pretty In Pink!!  The decorations were unbelievable, the food was fantastically delicious and it was such a joy to photograph the event!!

My name is Melissa DeWitt and I am a natural light photographer serving the Eastern Shore of the Delmarva Peninsula! I specialize in child photography, from maternity to newborns to teens, and family portraiture.

I strive to capture who my subjects really are. I love natural light! I love photographing my subjects in their home, where they live, laugh and love! I love furniture in a field and laying on blankets of grass! I encourage bare feet and free spirits! I love blankets and bubbles, pirate ships and princess crowns, rain boots and tutus! I love shy smiles, dancing feet and twinkling eyes! I love laughter and joy, and quiet moments of reflection. I love the refined and the awkward........the simple and the unique!
